This Privacy Policy explains how ReelGuud (“ReelGuud,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our website and service at reelguud.guud.ai (the “Service”). ReelGuud is an AI-powered tool that turns photos and short video clips into short-form videos (reels).
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
- Media you provide: photos and video clips you upload directly, or import from a connected source such as Google Photos, in order to generate reels.
- Generated content: the reels ReelGuud produces from your media.
- Basic usage data: standard technical logs (e.g., request timestamps and error logs) used to operate and secure the Service.
2. Google User Data (Google Photos)
If you choose to connect Google Photos, ReelGuud uses the Google Photos Picker API with read-only access. Here is exactly how that works:
- You select the media. ReelGuud opens Google’s own picker, and you hand-pick the specific photos and videos you want to import. ReelGuud does not access, browse, list, or scan your overall Google Photos library.
- Read-only. We can only read the items you explicitly selected. ReelGuud cannot modify, organize, or delete anything in your Google Photos.
- What we store. We download and store a copy of the items you selected in your ReelGuud account so they can be used to generate your reels. We also store the OAuth access/refresh tokens needed to perform the import; these tokens are encrypted at rest.
- How we use it. Google Photos media you import is used solely to provide the Service to you — i.e., to build the reels you request.
Limited Use Disclosure
ReelGuud’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train generalized/AI models. We only use it to provide and improve user-facing features that are prominent in ReelGuud, and only transfer it as needed to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service — tagging, organizing, and generating reels from your media.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account.
We do not sell your personal information or your media, and we do not use your uploaded or imported content to train AI models.
4. How We Share Information
We do not share your personal data or media with third parties except: (a) with service providers who process data on our behalf to run the Service (e.g., hosting), under confidentiality obligations; (b) when required by law; or (c) in connection with a merger or acquisition. We never sell your data.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- You can disconnect Google Photos at any time from your account settings, which revokes ReelGuud’s access and deletes the stored OAuth tokens.
- You can delete individual media items, generated reels, or your entire account at any time. Deleting your account removes your media and associated Google data from our systems.
- You can also revoke ReelGuud’s access directly from your Google Account permissions page.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption at rest for sensitive credentials such as OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Children’s Privacy
ReelGuud is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
